Tania Justina
León est un compositeur afro-cubain, un chef d'orchestre de musique de contemporaine et un professeur de musique.  Elle était né dans Cuba dans 1943 et a emigré à l'États-Unis dans 1967. Son disque nommé « Indigena » CRI 662 (1994) autorisé a gagné un prix donné aux compositeurs par l'Académie Américaine d'Arts et les Lettres.  Les pages intérieures du disque décrivent son héritage :
Né dans l'havane dans 1943, elle est d'héritage mélangé, Français, l'Espagnol, Chinois, Africain, et Cubain. 'Mes ancêtres sont venus des parties differentés du monde : ils sont venus des cultures différentes,' elle dit. 'Je suis fier de l'heritage chacun de les ont passé sur moi, et je représente les tous dans moi-même.  Je préfère être un être humain
inclus.'

Cinq compositions de León sont inclus sur le disque « Indigena » :
« Indigena » (8:18), « Parajota Delate » (3:09), « Ritual » [« La Rite »] (5:28), « A la Par » (12:49), et « Batey » (20:44).  Un enregistrement fait sous la direction de Leon est : CRI 662 (1994).  Une version de « Ritual » (8:37) pour le piano solo a été enregistré par Martha Marchena sur Troy 242 (1997).
